The Consultation Process

Consulting you in different ways

Consultation has been and will continue to be carried out in a number of ways to allow people to engage in a form and at a time that best suits them, whether on the street, at a workshop, as a member of a liaison group, as an amenity group or street representative, via canvass cards left at the Hub, or simply through using this website.

Capturing and representing your feedback

The information has been gathered and reflected in a number of ways, both quantitative and qualitative, to build up a clear understanding of the existing neighbourhood and its needs, fears and desires. For instance, we have statistically modeled your top priorities for the Masterplan as recorded in the physical and digital canvass cards you have returned to us by use of a simple bar chart while we have used imagery to capture the essence of your favoured places and buildings. Annotated maps with photographic records have been used to translate the findings of the local walk and talk excursions locals took us on to explore and understand the intricacies and special qualities of your various neighbourhoods.

Testing Masterplanning approaches

In addition to this we have used diagrammatic plans and sections to test out preferred Masterplanning approaches across six themes that were identified as being most important through local discussions and consultation. These have been absorbed by the masterplanners and the resulting design ideas will now be fed back and refined on an iterative basis between now and the submission of the planning application in the summer of this year
