The consultation process is intended to be dynamic and it will need to respond to the feedback it receives. The programme and process outlined here are therefore our best current estimate about how the consultation exercise will unfold, but there may be changes as we find out more. If you register with us, we ensure you are kept up to date
In September we worked to:
The consultation launch events were held on 13 and 14 October. The events consisted of two public workshops and a series of drop-in exhibitions. The drop-in exhibitions showed the outcomes of the initial wave of consultation and presented information relating to the masterplanning process. The workshops offered local people a further opportunity to give their feedback on the consultation findings and discuss preferred approaches to the forthcoming masterplan. It is estimated that over 200 people took part in the events, with just over one hundred and seventy providing contact details through registration. The drop-in exhibition was then moved to the community hub for a further two weeks.
During November and December we will establish two important groups that will act as a sounding board for the project as the masterplan takes shape. These are the 'Community Liaison Group', which will represent all local community, amenity, hard to reach and interest groups alongside some local service providers such as health and law enforcement, and the 'Residents' Liaison Group', which will represent tenants' and residents' associations and other agreed representatives.
In December we plan to hold a workshop that will introduce the masterplanning team to the two liason groups.
In January 2010 we plan to hold our second set of public workshops at which we will introduce the masterplanning team to the general public, give feedback on the consultation to date and discuss initial ideas for the masterplan. We also plan to discuss ideas for meanwhile use.
