Density and Heights

The diagrams on the right show residential densities and building heights within the immediate vicinity of the site. As can be seen, there is a great variety in both categories. The greatest density occurs at the southern end of Ebury Bridge Road, where 560 dwellings are arranged in a very tight configuration. The least dense area stands to the north-east of the site with 210 dwellings laid out on an organic street pattern. It should be noted that this is a mixed use area which includes offices, businesses, shops, a church and church school and a large builders' merchant which partially explains the low level of residential density.

Heights in the immediate vicinity of the site range from two to tens stories. In Grosvenor Waterside, which abuts the site to the east, there is one block that steps up to thirteen floors. The tallest building immediately adjacent to the site is the ten storey block that stands at the intersection of Chelsea Bridge Road and Pimlico Road. The lowest buildings are arranged along the north-eastern boundary of the site, at two to three floors in height.
